ART 5/4-5/8/2020:
Ms. Bateman ([email protected]) New art lessons have been posted to the Artsonia website for this week. Please go to www.artsonia.com/class. This is the website that leads you straight to the classroom portal for all art lessons. You will only need your student’s name and the access code to login from now on. Access Code: NTBY-SYNS If you are having any trouble accessing the website, please email me, I’d love to help. [email protected] You will need basic art supplies for most of these projects. If you do not have the recommended supplies for the projects, feel free to use what you already have. All art lessons will be updated weekly. There, you will find instructions and videos to help guide you to complete the projects. Please upload photos of completed artwork and write a title and artist statement explaining your artwork. Please do not feel any pressure to do these projects, but hopefully it can be a fun, stress-free outlet. Here are the final art projects for the year: Butterfly- Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd Grade- 5/4 - 5/8 Draw a butterfly then trace over their drawing with BLACK TEMPERA PAINT and then add color with oil pastels. Remember, if you don't have these specific materials, black crayon or marker for the outline, and colored crayon or marker could work just as well. Matisse Fish- 3rd and 4th Grade- 5/4 - 5/8 Introducing the artist Henri Matisse - draw a fish bowl and color background with marker. Ribbon- 5th and 6th Grade- 5/4 - 5/8 Learn how to draw and shade in a ribbon. Tissue works for shading if you do not have a shading stump. ____________________________________________________________ LIBRARY 5/4-5/8/2020: ***Important Notes*** ***Remember to drop off your library books when you come to school to pick up belongings May 14th-21st. There will be tubs labeled "Library Book Drop" in the gym.*** ***To parents who ordered books that we made in Library, the shipment may be later than May 14th-21st. If this is the case, I will send out an email when they arrive and keep them in the office for pickup.*** Want to write something meaningful this week? Want to brighten someone's day? Want to make a difference in the life of someone struggling? Write a letter to the elderly! Read the paragraph below, then click on the link to get started. Once you are in the website, follow instructions to upload your letter. https://www.writebyyourside.net/ We write letters to residents of assisted living centers who are on lock-down and unable to receive visitors. The letters are meant to support and uplift those who are in need and at risk during this difficult time, and remind them that they are not alone. During the Covid-19 pandemic, assisted living centers around the nation are on total lock-down, most to the point where the residents cannot even leave their rooms to socialize internally, let alone see their families. We work with administrators to receive the letters internally by email and then print them inside the facility. This will eliminate any potential outside germs, You can help by donating your time to write a letter to someone in need!
